East Tennessee Regional Public Speaking Spooktacular October 22, 2020 at 4:00 PM EST Preregistration due via October 15 (no late entries will be accepted) Registration Opens on October 8 Rules: Open to FFA members in the East Tennessee FFA Region Only Open to one participant per grade per chapter (Maximum of four students/chapter) Participants must speak only on topic that corresponds with their grade level FFA Official Dress Required Participants will present speeches via Zoom (link and time will be assigned) Speeches should be 3 - 4 minutes in length Speech manuscripts will not be judged and do not need to be turned in No visuals may be used for any speech Contestants may use note cards but reading directly from note cards may result in penalty Judges will stop contestant if speech goes over allotted time or if speech is inappropriate No questions will be asked Prizes will be awarded to winners in each grade level Contestants will be judged on: delivery and presentation (40 pts) construction and relevance (40 pts) creativity in overall presentation (15 pts) adherence to time allotted (5 pts) TOPICS: Public Speaking Freshman (9th) What is your favorite phrase of the FFA Creed and why?
